Really??

A partial list….

·      Elevator opens — before you can step out, someone rushes in.

·      At the grocery store, a shopper watches the cashier ring up every item and then watches them bag it, as if the process is a spectator sport.

·      Leaving the store, a man pushes his cart through the exit without a glance of acknowledgment.

·      Walking on the sidewalk in the morning, you offer a “Good morning.” The person approaching doesn’t respond.

·      It is not your first time reaching for a quart of milk — Apparently the person blocking the refrigerator door needs to read every label.

·      At a cocktail bar, you place your order with ease. The person ahead of you seems to be ordering a drink for the first time and needs the bartender to explain the options.

·      Standing in line at a fast‑food counter, the menu is simple and visible from twenty feet away — yet many wait until they reach the cashier to begin the decision‑making process.

·      At a green light, drivers hesitate behind the crosswalk instead of pulling into the intersection, guaranteeing only one car makes the turn.

·      On the sidewalk, two people stop to discuss life’s issues, forgetting the space is shared by everyone else.

Whether it is the menu – the bar – the traffic light – the refrigerator section – small spaces or common courtesy --- making those around you share in your indecision or indifference will widen the distance between us more than our beliefs.
